The Story Behind This Book

Thank you, for visiting this page. You are on the official page of the book ‘‘On A Mission To Love’’, which is currently being written by Eva Kiviluoma.
This book began unfolding in the mind of Eva in 2023. Eva’s mother, with whom she is very close, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer the previous Winter and Eva was looking for tools to be at her best to support her mother in the challenging times that an illness such as cancer inescapably brings. At the same time, Eva’s father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a degenerating cognitive disease in which one loses ones memory gradually. Being an only child Eva knew, that life as it was familiar would no longer exist and more would be demanded of her. A decade of Purna Yoga practice also taught the author that all pain and suffering can be softened through understanding and awareness. So as she embarked on the journey of supporting her parents in their struggles she also took note of everything she knew that was helpful and that was making things worse. She wrote it down. This is the foundation of ‘‘On A Mission To Love’’.

Expanding on personal experience as well as the ancient wisdom of the West and the East, this book seeks to offer you, the reader, insights, tools, and practical techniques to face the changes that are offered to you in your life. It gives a holistic perspective on life, including its physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects. In the book, the Author hopes, you will find wisdom of the old and understandings of modern times both of which will serve as a resting place for you amid change.

About the Author

Eva Kiviluoma, born in 1992 and raised in Finland, is a Yoga Professional helping individuals and companies to feel better through the tools of Yoga. She began her Yoga studies at the age of 18 due to lower back pain. In addition to healing her lower back, the Yoga studies offered bigger answers. Answers to existential questions she had; ‘‘Who am I? What’s my purpose? Why am I here? What’s the meaning of all of this?’’. The answers did not come in the form of intellectual lectures but through experience in practice and in meditation.
Eva has studied Yoga both in India (RYT 200 training in Rishikesh, 2013-2014) and in the West in Helsinki, Finland (RYT 200 & 500 in Helsinki, Finland, 2014-2015). She has studied with Internationally well-known Yoga Master Aadil Palkhivala and has continued her studies with him annually since 2015. For the last decade, she has committed her life to studying the ancient knowledge that Yoga offers us. In her work with individuals in Yoga classes and workshops as well as in her upcoming book, she shares what she has discovered in an enthusiastic yet peaceful, life-loving way.
Eva and her husband Gabriel Maldonado also host a podcast about Yoga, called Living Yoga Podcast and they offer a Yoga Holiday in Malaga, Spain every year. Read more about Eva by visiting her page at www.evakiviluoma.com.

On A Mission To Love- Podcast

The On A Mission To Love- Podcast started as Eva was doing her research for the book. She felt that to write a deeply impactful book, she needed to learn more from others. Having experienced loss and difficulty in her personal life through the death of family members and the illnesses of her parents she still needed to expand her understanding through other people’s experiences. In addition to solo episodes in the Podcast, she interviews others who have loved and lost. Hearing others talk about the wisdom and lessons they’ve learned informs Eva to write the book with not only her acquaintances with change but also the observations of many other fellow humans.
